Description

The Pleiades also known as The Seven Sisters is a reflection nebulae dominated by hot blue and very bright stars that illuminate the surrounding interstellar dust. The name Pleiades comes from ancient Greek mythology. There are many legends about it but the one I like most is this: The seven sisters were the daughters of the Titan Atlas. Atlas was busy holding the sky forever so Zeus transformed the Seven Sisters into stars to protect them from Orion the Hunter. In the Northern Hemisphere the Pleiades announce the cold season Autumn/Winter and they are very easily seen with naked eye.I captured this image in dark skies to reveal the faint reflection and dust details with a total integration time of 10h.
